The Rolex Submariner Date is crafted from Oystersteel, a highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel alloy belonging to the 904L family, chosen for its durability and ability to maintain a polished finish even in demanding environments.

Its signature black Cerachrom bezel insert is made from an extremely hard ceramic material that is virtually scratch-resistant and highly resistant to fading from UV exposure. The unidirectional rotatable bezel features engraved 60-minute graduations coated with platinum via a PVD process, allowing divers to accurately monitor immersion time.

The watch features a 41 mm Oyster case with a screw-down Triplock winding crown, providing water resistance to 300 meters (1,000 feet). The black dial includes large luminous hour markers and Mercedes-style hands filled with Chromalight, emitting a long-lasting blue glow for excellent legibility in low-light conditions.

A magnified date display at the 3 o'clock position is enhanced by Rolex's iconic Cyclops lens, making the date easier to read.
